Family Reunion
Well I am noticing a trend about the family reunion plans. The trend being that someone needs to step forward and take charge of the plans. With that being said shall we take any nominations? I nominate Aunt Gail and Uncle Herb since they have all that free time to go to the beach and what not. Sandi and all of the Southern Neuhaus Crew shouldn't be burdened with any of the planning due to the obvious reasons that they kind of have alot to deal with at the moment. Myself would like too but don'th ave the resources or the time. I know Melissa is in the same boat as myself. And Lori is busy with her house and she just got done planning a huge event.
Any seconds to the nominations of Aunt Gail and Uncle Herb?

I vote for a committee of Aunt Gail and my mom (April).
I think that Mom would be really good at keeping us all on track. And like Bobby says, Aunt Gail has a little bit more time to do the legwork (or the 'puter research, actually).
Gee ! I go to the Beach 3 times all summer and now I have all this free time. LOL! Well I,m not sure how good I would be , but will give it a try. Hope to hear from April, heard she was nominated too. LOL! For a start the Camp that Sandi mentioned is: Cherokee KOA of North Carolina. Every one can look it up and read about it. I will call and get the rates for 2006.
The camp that Sandi told us about is great. We went there last summer, I admit I was only there for a day before I had to leave -(My House was flooded)But it (the camp) was wonderful, it has everything and anything you would want to do. Remember the camp we use to go to in north Jersy, by the highlands I think? Anyway we camped right by the water and we would ride the tubes down the river among other things This place is just as nice, We had rented a cabin instead of taking Sandi's pop up, we figured it would be easier. There is all sorts of things to do in camp and short distances from camp. We can plan any number of activities and keep everyone happy, whether you come for just a few days or a week. But Gail I know you are busy too so if you have time please check it out but keep in mind that we'll need prices both for a few days and longer.
I remember seeing an email link on the camp's website for groups/reunions. I think that that we would need 5 sites and/or cabins to qualify for the group discount. Do we have enough families interested to qualify?
I agree with mom about getting both weekend and week rates. The kids and I are planning to make this trip our week vacation this summer. It's just too far to go for just the weekend, especially if we hope to actually spend any time with everyone.
Another good idea might be to see if there is a difference between the holiday and non-holiday price.
I appreciate the two of you (mom and Aunt Gail) stepping up and agreeing to take on this task. Despite Bobby's and my teasings, we know that you are BOTH just as busy as the rest of us!
Well I e-mailed the camp ground for prices, she has to know if we want Kottages, Kabins, camp sites, with or without water and electric. They do not have discounts for the 4th ,other times its 10 or 15% discounts . There is a lot of info if you go to that Web site. later Aunt Gail
Thanks Gail for finding out what you did. Now I guess we have a few things to find out, first we need to have everyone's name and some way of getting in touch (Not everyone has joined the Gathering and we do want everyone possible at the reunion) So what we need is names and addresses, we'll have to keep them informed by regular mail and they also should have the chance to make suggestions, etc. Does anyone have Samatha's Traci Shawn & Stevens email? Does Aunt Leslie have one? (Kelly, I guess I really am asking you!By the way, it was so nice seeing pictures of you and your family. And catching up) I talked to Aunt Mickey and shes going to be getting a computer so she can join us.Can anyone get after the Longstreets, Ronny You joined the Gathering But you have never said anything, We all want to know how you are and we would like to meet your wife. So I need names & address' I am also going to give everyone another chance to suggest a place and I am also going to start taking "reservations" As Gail said we need some facts so that we can make plans. Just a comment on mom's note: Please don't post the addresses, etc on this blog. Even though it is an invitation-only site, it is still possible for non-members view it. I've sent out an email to everyone with both mine and mom's (April's) email addresses just in case anyone didn't have them -- please send the information to either mom or myself. Also, we need EVERYONE's address, phone, and email that isn't already on the blog, not just the names mom mentioned as examples. Thank you!

As quoted by my college educated brother, points out his mastery of the English language. Now I am just a simple roofer, and I am usually humbled by my brothers intelligence, nevertheless I found this very funny. I also find the nomination for my parents equally funny for the reason that whenevr I ask my mother if she would like to stop by to visit her only grandchild, her response is "I don't know if I can, I have things to do" If we need someone to do computer leg work, My darling Danielle has some free time and I gladly nominate her. I would like help as well, but i am a mere roofer and I don't have the eduction I feel would be necessary for this large task. However, Sandy put in motion the tools we need to acomplish this task at all our finger tips. We all do our small parts, and maybe elect someone as a filter for all our imput and small tasks acomplished. Just my opinion, not trying to say how this should be done, just a simple idea. Good to hear from you April, I,m getting excited to. Its funny you said its time to send people info, cause Lori told my yesterday thats the next step. Me and Herb are going to call a lot of family members we haven't heard from, cause we're eager to get some more input. I will also get the Longstreets going on this.
Special aside to Charlie -- please don't belittle yourself. Down here in Palm Beach County (and I'd guess it would be the same in Louisiana), roofers are now considered as close to demigods as humans can get. All it takes is a mention of "my cousin is a roofer" and I get invited to all the best parties!
