Family Reunion up date necessary!
Hey everyone Do you realize how fast the time is going? July will be here before we know it. We really need to get organized on the reunion. So first things first - Where are we having it? I suggest North Carolina. How about if we take suggustions until Oct 28th on where to go? After that we start serious planning. Add ideas suggestions and comments to this post. Speak up now or you are stuck with what we do.

Hi April, good to here from you. Your right we have to get busy. It looks like the 4 th of July has more votes. Lori had sugested a big group rental on the beach. Sandi sugested camping in the mountain area. That has to be voted on too cause deposits have to be made early. I,ll have Lori post info on the beach and Sandi the Camp ground.
North Carolina would be great (especially since i live right next to there). With deciding between the beach and the mountains you need to figure out what you want too do. The beach of course has the ocean. But the mountains has whitewater rafting. In Southwest NC theres rafting on the Nantahala and the Ocoee river. The nantahala is class 2 and 3 and the ocoee depending where you go on it is class 3 to 4.
Both are alot of fun.
Well I,m gona start the Vote .Me and Herb say the Mountains, cause we live near the beach. We want to do the Rafting, I went once and I (Gail ) loved it!! Can,t wait to do it again.
Im not sure we will be able to be there, but our vote {for what its worth}is the mountains also! Seems like there would be more to do although Im sure all anyone is gonna want to do is talk, eat and drink!
Since the mountains seem to be a popular choice, I'll go ahead and post my idea. I had mentioned a campground in Cherokee, North Carolina that the kids and I like a lot. It's not too far from Asheville (about an hour) so there would be an airport, for those that would be flying. Also, Asheville has a great zoo and of course my favorite -- Biltmore Manor. Going the other direction, about an hour drive is Gatlinberg (lots of shopping and amusement parks). Within 10 minutes of the campground is Cherokee itself, with shopping, an Indian casino, Indian reservation (for tours and an outdoor play) and the National Park. The campground offers buses to whitewater rafting, horseback riding in the mountains, and a great train trip through the mountains. There is a wonderful hike from the campground to a waterfall, as well as stocked fishing streams at the camp itself. What else? Umm, two pools (indoor and out), volleyball, computer access, kids game room, cabins & tent/camper sites, etc, etc. Anyway, here is the camp's website if anyone is interested: http://cherokeekoa.com/index.html. Wherever we decide, we need to start making reservations early especially if everyone is still wanting to do the holiday. I have some great photos of our trip there; let me know if you want me to post any of them.
Sandi That sounds great I,m really looking forward to it. Please post some pictures. Lori said she is sorry she can,t help set this up, real busy remodling her new house. She said she'll like where ever we go. Hope we hear from more relatives on this. Does the forth sound like a definate?
